Episode 19 – How do you make a romantic relationship work when you hold opposing perspectives of the world?

Today on The Not-So-Serious Life, Jason and Steve answer the viewer question:

“How do you make a romantic relationship work when you hold opposing perspectives of the world?”

Whether this was a legitimate question or just an attempt to land us in the doghouse, today’s question brings JG and Steve’s MUCH better halves (Alicia and Kathy, respectively) into the spotlight!

Steve shares how he welcomes Kathy’s opposing views and JG shares the 3-step “gentle” process that Alicia used to help transform him from a helpless, angry victim into a powerful, self-leading owner!

Time for you to weigh in!

How do you work (or play) with a significant other who has opposing views or philosophies from yours?  Does anything we shared today seem like it would be helpful in your personal relationships?

Also, to our Inner Circle members, share pictures of the SWAG BAGS we sent you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or wherever else you hang out online (and tag us) so JG can finally find out what surprises Steve put in the packages!

  1. I recently listened to Jacob Sokol interviewing John Morgan and John used an analogy of dating his wife was akin to a coaching relationship. She was the coach and she created a clear agreement of how their relationship would look IF he chose to be in that relationship with her. I really loved that, as it’s no different than understanding we teach people how to treat us. If they choose to not be in the relationship with us, that’s their decision and never ours.
